Midnight Snake:
(Okay, we're back! Hey, if I can get some prayers for a friend of mine and friend of his. I'd be really grateful anyone wants to. Thank you. Anyways, I figured I'd write the bond between Snake & Zeke when Zeke was still a toddler. Anyways, enjoy!)
Wolf has been reading a bedtime book with Zeke. Zeke clutched the plush of Pabu super closely as Wolf continued to read.
"The end." Wolf smiled, "Okay, kiddo. Time for bed." Zeke had said nothing besides "No, Daddy, no…" Zeke was begging for another bedtime story.
"Sorry, buddy. But we gotta head to bed. You got your school in the morning and we adults got something we gotta do in the morning." Wolf said, patting his head.
"Okay…" Zeke whined, before lying down in bed.
"Good night, Zekey. I love you." Wolf said, walking out of the room and watching his baby bunny fall asleep.
"Love you, too, Daddy." Zeke said.
(Later)
Wolf had gone over the plan to rob the bank with the rest of the Bad Guys. Snake had finally sighed in happiness. They finally got back to what they do best for everyone's worst.
That kid was screwing up their schedules and things.
"Okay, we're all wrapped up? Any questions?" Wolf asked, Piranha rose his hand. "Yeah, can I do a surprise?" Piranha asked. "Okay, any OTHER questions?" Wolf asked, knowing he had already gone back over that with Piranha.
"No? All right then. Come on, rest up for tomorrow. Shark, you said you'd watch Zekey while you infiltrated, right?" Wolf said.
"Yeah, and I have just the role to play! I'm so excited, baby!" Shark said, excitedly. "Can't wait." Wolf said, before everyone had gone back to their rooms. "I'm not tired. I'll be up for a little bit." Snake said.
Everyone else had gone and walked away.
Snake had gone and turned on some quiet music while he treated himself to a push pop and some tv.
He relaxed himself in the chair and watched as everything seemed right.
Then, it happened.
Snake began to hear quiet whimpers and cries as he tried to see where it was coming from. "Oh jeez…Kid, I know it's you. What noises are you making now…?" Snake pretended he couldn't understand the cries and whimpers of a child.
He saw the toddler rabbit walking toward where Wolf would sleep.
"Kid? Kid?" Snake asked, and Zeke turned around and saw his uncle.
"Your dad's asleep, so you should—" What Snake wasn't expecting was for the rabbit to cling to him.
What WAS this? Was this kid…HUGGING him? Seeking HIS comfort? This was unheard of. This kid's brain was already backwards.
"Wha-What're you doin'…kid?" Snake asked the toddler rabbit. "Unkee…scared…" Snake was confused. If he was scared of him, why was he hugging him?
"Scared of…Unkee?" Snake tried to dumb down his talk to make sure Zeke understood the question
Zeke gave a questioning look, shook his head "no" and tried to really explain. "Scared…monster…wan' Daddy." Zeke tried to say.
Snake didn't know what to do, this brat was already ruining his midnight time. "Show me the…monster." Snake told him.
Zeke led Snake back into his room. He expected Piranha, Shark or Webs to be playing a trick on him, but…then again. This kid already doesn't view those three as monsters, either.
Zeke immediately hid behind Snake and it still shocked him that Zeke sought him as comfort. Snake looked at where he was pointing. Snake sighed, "Kid, it's just a shadow. That thing can't move to hurt you." Snake said.
"No?" Zeke's voice was weak. Snake just rolled his eyes. "No. There's no monster there. Maybe you should finally get your eyes checked and—" Snake was once again shocked when Zeke hugged him again.
"Thanks, Unkee Hew-burr." Zeke said, which Snake felt something in his tail. He's…never been…thanked by someone that wasn't the guys.
"Y-Yeah…yeah, whatever." Snake snapped out of it and just patted the head of the toddler rabbit with his tail. "Not sleepy?" Snake asked.
Zeke shook his head "no".
Snake rolled his eyes, "Fine. I'm staying up late, anyways." Snake said, slithering off and heading into the freezer.
A few push pops were still in the freezer, "Want one?" Snake asked, Zeke nodded happily.
Snake grabbed another one out for the kid.
(Later)
Zeke was watching tv with his uncle. He enjoyed the push pop and held Pabu close to him. "Unkee, why you staying up?" Zeke asked. "Cuz I wanted some alone time." Snake said, taking off his hat and drank a drink of an adult beverage Zeke wasn't allowed to have. "Great, now I can't even drink cuz YOU'RE here." Snake muttered, putting the glass bottle away.
He then poured a cup of soda. Zeke then held up Pabu, "Boo!" Zeke said, trying to be cheeky. Snake rolled his eyes, "Nice try, kid. You don't scare me and neither does your "pal."" Snake said to the rabbit.
"Daddy gets scared when I do that." Zeke explained, "I'm not your daddy." Snake said, Zeke nodded. "Oh, are you braver than Daddy?" He asked.
Snake just chuckled, "Haha. Smarter about things than him, maybe." He answered.
Zeke had giggled, finding everything he says funny.
"Unkee Hew-burr…story?" Zeke was asking for a story.
Snake rolled his eyes. "Sure, kid." The two of them sat on a couch while Snake grabbed one of the books he was reading.
Snake was tempted to scare the kid, but he had the heist with the guys and the last thing he needs is Wolf berating him for the kid crying.
Snake continued to read the children's book and watched as Zeke began to become drowsy.
"Nigh-nigh…Unkee Hew…" Zeke smiled at him and hugged him. Snake didn't even think and he hugged back.
"Uh…night, Zeke." Snake said. Zeke broke his English when he heard it, but Snake knew he could hear him say: "I love you."
Snake had felt his tail wag and he felt a feeling in his heart. Almost like…fondness. "Y-Yeah…I…I love you, too, I guess, Zekey." Snake muttered quietly. The rabbit went to sleep, but Snake went and grabbed a pillow and blanket for him.
Snake started to form a small smile. He rolled his eyes when he realized Zeke was sleeping in the Loot/Living Room. "Someone's gotta be here when he wakes up." Snake then adjusted a nearby chair and pulled a blanket over himself.
(The next morning)
Wolf yawned and stretched his arms out while he went into the living room. He saw Snake and Zeke were the first people up. "Morning." Wolf greeted the two.
"Morning, Daddy!" Zeke said, holding Pabu up as Snake and Zeke had cereal. "This is rare. I never see you in the same room as Zekey willingly." Wolf said, "Yeah, well…you owe me for Zeke waking up in the middle of the night." Snake said.
Wolf realized this was one of the first times he ever called Zeke by his name and not just "kid", "runt" or "brat".
Snake had sat next to the rabbit and watched as the young rabbit pulled up Pabu behind him. "Boo!" Zeke said, "Told ya that ain't gonna work on me, kid." Snake pat Zeke's head and gave a dry smile.
Wolf could see it with his own eyes and smiled. Snake had grown closer to Zeke and wasn't viewing him as a nuisance.
(Okay, we're done! I hope u guys enjoyed this! I know I may be overusing Snake & Zeke's bond, but I love it when these two interact, you know? I feel like Snake learning to love Zeke as family, instead of viewing him as a pest is definitely something he'd do. But anyways, I'll keep at it. And I'd still appreciate some prayers for my friend and his friend. Stay strong and awesome!)
Luke 11:40-41 KJV:
40. Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? 41. But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
