Chapter I

Rina Rosa was like most 18-year-olds: caught somewhere between the cusp of adulthood and the lingering innocence of childhood. A freshman at college, she spent her days juggling between lectures, social gatherings, and her endless love for fantasy stories. There was something about escaping into a world where magic was real, heroes were born from adversity, and the impossible was possible.

Her favorite of all these tales was The Flower That Bloomed, a comic about a 21-year-old girl named Rosette who was chosen by fate to save her peaceful world from the looming threat of five demon overlords. Rosette was graceful yet fierce, kind yet determined—everything Rina aspired to be. And, as with most heroes, she would eventually find love in the arms of a valiant knight who stood by her side through every battle.

Rina would often lie in her bed, flipping through the pages of the comic, losing herself in the vibrant illustrations of blooming flowers, golden cities, and epic swordfights. The world was pure, filled with magic, and Rina dreamed of one day being a part of something like it.

But that day never seemed like it would come.

Instead, she had her usual college routine: early morning lectures, late-night study sessions, and long hours spent in the university café with her friends. Life was comfortable—if not a little predictable.

"Rina! Over here!"

Rina turned at the sound of her name. Her classmate, Mia, was waving enthusiastically from the corner of the café. Mia was always the bubbly, extroverted one, the type of person who could light up a room with her energy. Rina, on the other hand, preferred the quiet corners of the world, where she could read her comics and sip on her overpriced coffee.

"Hey!" Rina waved back as she made her way over to the table, her bag slung over her shoulder.

Mia smiled brightly, her dark hair bouncing as she grinned. "What's up? Have you read the latest issue of The Flower That Bloomed? It's crazy!"

Rina's heart skipped a beat. Of course, she would bring that up. "I just finished it," Rina said, sitting down across from Mia, pulling out her own coffee cup. "I loved the part where Rosette gets her new weapon and faces the first demon overlord. That was so intense!"

"Right?!" Mia leaned in, her eyes wide with excitement. "But I swear, the plot twists are so wild. I can't believe the knights are hiding a secret about Rosette's past! I need to know more!"

Rina smiled at her friend's enthusiasm. She loved how much Mia got into stories, even if her tastes were more... modern than Rina's. Mia's passion for drama and suspense was contagious, and Rina appreciated it, even if she preferred her worlds to be a little quieter, a little more magical.

"So, what are you doing tonight?" Mia asked, picking up her phone. "I was thinking we could head over to that new pizza place down the street. Maybe catch a movie afterward?"

Rina hesitated. She had a test coming up, and the idea of studying didn't exactly excite her. But Mia was persistent, and Rina could never say no to her best friend. Plus, the thought of escaping into something that wasn't textbooks for a few hours sounded like a good plan.

"I guess I could use a break," Rina said with a grin. "Alright, I'm in."

Later that evening, the two girls strolled down the street, chatting about everything and nothing. They passed familiar landmarks—those same buildings, the same streetlights that seemed to comfort Rina like they were part of her routine. It was the kind of night that made her feel like everything was right in the world.

They reached the pizza place and sat down in a cozy booth, sipping sodas and laughing over the latest gossip. But as the hours passed and the conversation turned toward their futures, Rina couldn't help but feel that old, gnawing sense of unease. Was this it? Was she just meant to live out her days like this, forever stuck in the mundane?

She shook the thought away, refocusing on the present, on Mia's excitement as they ordered another slice of pizza.

The next morning, Rina was walking across the campus to her first lecture of the day when everything changed.

She had just crossed the crosswalk, her phone in hand, when a screeching noise pierced the air. Tires skidded. Brakes screamed. Rina froze, heart pounding in her chest. She turned toward the sound just in time to see a truck barreling toward her, its driver apparently losing control.

Her mind raced—move, get out of the way! But in that split second, her gaze flickered to her friends walking on the other side of the street. They hadn't noticed. Mia, her best friend, was too caught up in texting someone, and the others were oblivious to the danger.

Without thinking, Rina sprinted forward.

"Get out of the way!" she screamed, pushing Mia and her friends out of the path of the oncoming truck.

The impact was instant. The world spun wildly. Time slowed, then completely stopped.

When Rina woke up again, it was as if she had been pulled out of her body, her soul hurled into a new reality.

Her senses returned slowly. She blinked, feeling the soft caress of a breeze, the gentle warmth of sunlight on her skin. The scent of flowers filled the air, so sweet it almost overwhelmed her. She sat up, her body feeling lighter than air.

She was no longer in the familiar concrete world she'd just left behind. Instead, she found herself surrounded by a vast, flower-filled meadow. A city of gleaming stone and crystal towers stood just beyond the hills, its beauty almost too perfect to comprehend.

Her reflection in a nearby fountain caught her attention.

Long pink hair. Deep violet eyes. A white dress with delicate petals embroidered along the hem. A gold necklace in the shape of a blooming flower.

"Oh no…" Rina whispered, her hands trembling as she touched her face. This wasn't real. She couldn't be… her.

But when she looked again, the truth struck her like a bolt of lightning. She was Rosette.

Her heart raced. The heroine of The Flower That Bloomed.

No… this couldn't be happening. Rina—Rosette—had been thrown into the story. The world of flowers, peace, and demons. She was living in a world where every month, the peace was threatened by five demon overlords, and brave warriors were sent to stop them.

As she took in the beauty of this new world, she knew one thing for sure. She didn't belong here… but if she was going to make it out alive, she would need to learn quickly.

With resolve building in her chest, Rosette stood tall, brushing the soft petals from her dress. She was no longer the passive reader of the comic. She had no choice but to embrace her new role, the role of the heroine who would protect this world—and maybe, just maybe, find a love of her own along the way.

The Five Demon Overlords of Sin

In the once-peaceful world Rosette now lived in, beauty bloomed from every hill and meadow, and the wind carried the laughter of mortals like petals in the breeze. But behind that peace lurked a growing threat—one that returned with deadly force every month. It was said that long ago, five corrupted souls, born from humanity's greatest sins, were sealed away in the far corners of the world.

Now, they were awake.

Known as the Five Demon Overlords, they had each claimed a region of the world as their dominion. Warriors were chosen every month to fight them, but few ever returned.

Rosette used her knowledge to remember every Demon Overlord.

1. Lord Vaelion, the Overlord of Pride

Sin: Pride

Region: The Obsidian Citadel – a towering black fortress surrounded by statues of Vaelion himself.

Personality: Arrogant, commanding, and theatrical. Vaelion sees himself as a god among mortals.

Trial: Those who dare challenge him and fail are cursed into eternal servitude, forced to kneel before him as "honored slaves" to decorate his halls.

Quote: "You should be honored to be crushed beneath my boot, little mortal."

2. Lady Auravelle, the Overlord of Greed

Sin: Greed

Region: The Golden Reaches – a desert of endless sand filled with buried treasure and cursed riches.

Personality: Calculating, seductive, and manipulative. She smiles sweetly but always wants more.

Trial: Victory against her can only be achieved through a bribe—but her price is never gold. She demands memories, youth, emotions, even one's soul.

Quote: "Everything has a price, dear... even your hope."

3. Sir Calvian, the Overlord of Lust

Sin: Lust

Region: The Velvet Realm – a beautiful illusionary domain that traps visitors in endless desire.

Personality: Alluring, cruel, and obsessive. He craves control and pleasure in twisted forms.

Trial: If you are married, he will tempt you to betray your vows. If you are not, he will force a binding marriage to a random person unless defeated.

Quote: "Let me be your everything... or I'll take everything anyway."

4. Envyra, the Overlord of Envy

Sin: Envy

Region: The Shattered Mirrorlands – a land of stolen reflections and twisted mimicry.

Personality: Spiteful, jealous, and insecure. She resents beauty, power, and joy in others.

Trial: Before any battle, Envyra drains her challenger's gifts—stealing their magic, skills, even memories—claiming them as her own.

Quote: "Why should you have what I do not?"

5. Malgareth, the Overlord of Wrath (The Leader)

Sin: Wrath

Region: The Crimson Wastes – a hellish war-torn realm of fire and storm.

Personality: Violent, vengeful, and unrelenting. Malgareth is the strongest and the most feared.

Trial: There is no trial. He slaughters. He destroys. He has one goal: the complete extinction of mortals and the rise of demons in their place.

Quote: "This world has known mercy long enough. It is time it learns pain."

Now reborn as Rosette, a 21-year-old woman with memories of her past life and a new destiny thrust upon her, she was no longer reading about this world. She was living it. And if she didn't rise to the occasion, those five overlords would not just rule the world—they would erase it.

As Rosette trains herself in magic, combat, and survival, she must learn the rules of this world fast. For in only a few short weeks, the next month will arrive… and warriors must face one of the overlords.

Will it be her?
