Naomi

four days later

I looked up from the ground walking along the yard from the back of the house, the ground was dry and hard, the breeze blew against my face carrying scent along with it. I looked up for two reasons, one I knew the scent well and second what is this boy doing? I stopped and tilted my head at Seth Clearwater also stopping just before walking onto the driveway, I put my hands on my hips as he scratched the back of his head. I walked towards him and studied him as I approached, he honestly looked like a wreck, tired and restless, he came around quicker than Bella and I haven't been ignoring him on purpose or

"Nincompoop?" I asked stopping a couple of feet away from him.

"Why aren't you at school?" he asked rather hastily. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing sharply with frustration, my eyebrows furrowed. "We all have finals coming up, playing hooky right now isn't going make those tests go away."

"Seth." I said but he ignored me, he seemed restless like Bella had been when she came looking for Paul in April.

"What are you wearing?" He demanded, I looked down at myself. I was wearing one of my shirts I had ripped for patrols and my short athletic shorts with my leather cord wrapped around my right ankle. "It's 60 degree's," I looked up at him, "Did you get a tattoo?" he demanded grabbing my left arm to examine the tribal tattoo on my bicep and shoulder, and then he let go of my arm. "Your skin is hot. Are you okay? Are you sick?"

"Seth."

"Yes?" he asked looking at me which eyes that were wide and filled with swirling overwhelming emotions.

He's worried. He's confused. He's overwhelmed with the imprint that he doesn't even know about yet. Rip it off like a band aid Naomi, you know she's coming either way. Rip it off and fight like fucking hell.

"Do you want to see something?" I asked, calmly.

"Yes." He replied not even a second after I finished speaking.

Seth yelped in shock before falling backwards, it was all within a moment four things crossed his face. Shock when I stripped down to my underwear and allowed the shiver of heat roll down my spine and phase which caused him to fall backwards. Scrutinizing as he stared at me, picking out what I was, what he was looking at. Then shock again that was quickly replaced with a grin of fascinated acceptance.

He stood back up to his feet, "Awesome." He said as a release of elated breath.

My head tilted at him, an unconscious wag of my tail, Awesome? That was an unexpected response. Considering the fact that this was the first time seeing my wolf without me having to fight, well… who knows if I have to fight soon, I can feel it.

Seth reaches out with a hand towards my face taking a encouraging breath with his hand slightly shaking, I leaned close and his hand came into contact with my muzzle and nose. He laughs once breathy with amused curiosity, fascination and his smile spreading wider across his face, I stepped forward and extended my neck to sniff him. His eyes widened but he stayed still, smiling, his eyes observantly sharp, he laughed as I sniffed his face. My whiskers brushing against his skin and making him jump back, I perked up and studied him as he stared back at him with bright brown eyes.

"Awesome." He breathed again.

"Why do you shift?" Seth asks once I was human again and dressed, I stopped beside him. "You don't need the full moon? How is that possible?"

"Lions, tigers and bears." I joked, crossing my arms.

He narrowed his eyes at me, scrutinizing, "That was a joke."

I smiled, "It was." I huffed sharply, "I can't tell you though."

"Why?" He was truly offended.

I scanned his face and met his eyes, "Because your life depends on it."

He scoffed.

"I'm serious." I said dropping my arms to my sides. "I can't tell you why or how because… it could get you killed and that isn't an option."

"Get me killed? Why did you tell me this in the first place?"

"Because…" There has been a lot of things I have learned over the past four days from being in constant patrol with the others. They remembered what Seth told them in our… first life, there were a lot of things I couldn't tell Seth or anybody because it triggers her presence. There's a lot of things that trigger her presence, and I'm still learning the others. So far showing him what I am hasn't triggered her, but I wasn't going to push it with the full truth of imprinting on him. "Because I choose you."

"Choose me?" he was slightly offended again.

"To be my alpha male."

He stopped. Seth stared at me, "Alpha male?" He said it like he couldn't believe a word I was saying.

I nodded, "I'm the alpha female of the pack. I choose you… to be my mate."

"Mate? What are we in the Midevil era?"

"Seth. I'm serious."

"So am I."

"No, we're not. But I choose you and with that, you have to know what I am. Out of trust and honesty."

"Why did you choose me? Out of everyone else on Earth?"

"Why wouldn't I choose you?" I asked staring into his eyes, hoping that maybe he would remember something or realize something about this.

But he grew more impatient and confused, "I can think of a lot of reason why I'm not the best choice for that role. I can't even shift."

"You don't need too."

"Then what am I supposed to do?" He rushed, he was scrambling for logical reason within his own mind of denial and disbelief.

"Just be you." I said calmly, my eyes intently gazing at him

"But why? Why me? Why do you want me?" He asked, using his hands as he spoke. He was going to snap, I wondered if he was beginning to remember or was trying to remember, or just in complete denial. "Why me? What could I give you that someone else can? I can't shift. I can't protect you."

He stopped and his breath hitched as my hands rested on his face, his cheeks were cool and soft and full of youth, his dark eyes looked up at me from the inch difference of our heights. His eyes showed his spiraling thoughts, all of the things he wanted to ask but didn't speak, it reminded me of this life before this one. I leaned my forehead against his, his eyes stilled and swirled with thoughts I couldn't read. I closed my eyes, my right hand slid to the back of his head, and my left hand rested along the junction of his shoulder and neck, and his collarbone. Silence with a light breeze brushing through the tops of the trees, his arms wrapped around my waist and I pulled him closer into a full embrace, his hands rested on the opposite sides of my ribcage. My right arm was wrapped around his upper back and my left hand holding his head against mine, torsos flush together. The tension in the air dissipated like mist as we melted into each other, holding the other up, I could only pray that he would remember one day and remember this moment. If he remembers, I hope he never forgets this out of everything else, I hope he never forgets all of the moments we had just like this.

It was always enough. It always said exactly what couldn't be spoken since we were children. I don't care if this Seth in this life has never met me before Friday afternoon, I don't care because one day this Seth would remember all of the other Seth's. All of us in any timeline.

Which ever one was the real Seth. Which ever one of us was real because nothing felt real anymore and it would be a cruel dream to wake from. He stiffened and his fingers dug into my skin.

"What-?" He gasped in disbelief, I felt his heartbeat increasing in tempo from his ribcage.

Everything went black.
